Reach for

GasWork

  • The largest volume of CRNA listings
  • Free for hospitals and groups to post

Reach for

CRNA Jobs

  • Structured listings with salary and facility details
  • Filter by location, employment type, and setting
  • Anonymous, NPI-verified candidate profile

The short answer

GasWork is the incumbent — the most anesthesia listings in one place, and it's free for hospitals and groups to post, so the volume is real. The tradeoff is that it's a posting board: listing detail varies, a lot of posts come from staffing agencies, and to be seen by recruiters you post a CV they can read. crna.jobs is the opposite design — every listing is structured with salary and facility details, you filter and set alerts, and your profile stays anonymous until you choose to respond.

Most CRNAs don't need to choose. Use GasWork for breadth so you don't miss anything. Use crna.jobs for a structured, private search with filtering, salary transparency, and one-click applications.

Where GasWork is stronger

The incumbent, online since 1996. GasWork is the anesthesia-only employment resource most CRNAs already know, and the name employers and agencies reach for first. Nearly three decades in, it has the deepest back-catalog of anesthesia listings anywhere.

The most listings in one place. Posting is free for hospitals and anesthesia groups (agencies and firms pay), so a large volume of roles flows through it from across the country. If a CRNA job is being advertised somewhere, there's a good chance it's on GasWork.

An established CV database and mobile apps. You can post a CV for recruiters to find and browse listings from GasWork's free mobile apps — handy if you want to keep an eye on the market on the go.

Where GasWork falls short for job search

It's a posting board, not a candidate tool. You reach employers by sending an inquiry to each poster, and the experience is built around the listings rather than your search. There's no structured one-click apply with a saved profile, and no single dashboard that tracks where you stand across roles.

Listing detail varies, and agencies are heavy. Many posts come from staffing agencies, and how much they tell you — facility, pay, schedule, case mix — is inconsistent. You'll often message the poster just to learn the basics, and CRNAs frequently note that some of the best jobs are found through networking rather than the board.

Duplicate and "overposted" listings. Because multiple agencies can advertise the same opening, you'll often see the same job posted several times — and GasWork itself notes that a single agency may intentionally "overpost" one role with slight rewording. There's a compare tool to help, but you still spend time working out which listings are actually distinct.

Where CRNA Jobs is stronger

Every listing is structured, with real details. On crna.jobs, you see the facility (or city, if the employer requests confidentiality), employment type, setting, and salary range (when provided) — in the same format on every post, so you can actually compare roles instead of decoding free-form ads.

Built-in search and filtering. Filter by location, employment type (permanent, locum, PRN), and setting. Save your searches and get weekly email alerts when new jobs match your criteria.

Streamlined applications with a saved resume. Save your resume once and apply with one click. No emailing individual recruiters with attachments for every opportunity. Track all your applications in one dashboard and see which jobs you've applied to and when.

Anonymous, NPI-verified candidate pool. Create a profile with your preferred work state, years of experience, and desired salary to join a privacy-first candidate pool. Verified recruiters will be able to reach you with specific opportunities while your name, current employer, and contact info stay private — you decide if and when to respond, so you can explore without exposing your search.

Locum pay calculator. Free tool to estimate take-home pay by state after taxes, so you can compare locum offers accurately. Covers all 50 states with state-specific tax calculations.

What you give up with CRNA Jobs

We're newer and smaller. GasWork has decades of incumbency, a larger back-catalog of listings, and an established CV database that recruiters already check. We're earlier in that journey.

We don't have nationwide density yet. We're growing quickly, but we're not in every state at the same depth. If you're searching somewhere we're still thin, you'll see fewer options than on GasWork — though every one will be structured and detailed.

Should you use both?

Sure — they're good at different things. Scan GasWork for breadth so you don't miss agency-posted or direct roles that haven't reached crna.jobs yet. Use crna.jobs for a structured, private search: filter your states and employment type, set alerts, apply in one click, and compare offers with the pay calculator.

One note: GasWork is a job board, not a community. For peer opinions on facilities and recruiters, CRNAs tend to compare notes in places like Reddit or Student Doctor Network — not on GasWork itself.

Our recommendation

If you're actively job hunting, start with crna.jobs. Filter by your target states and employment type, set up saved searches, and create an anonymous, NPI-verified profile to join the candidate pool, so verified recruiters will be able to bring opportunities to you without exposing your search. Use the pay calculator to compare locum offers side by side.

Keep an eye on GasWork for breadth — it has the most listings, so it's worth a scan to make sure you're not missing anything. Just be ready to message posters for the details a listing leaves out.
